, Patricia Jones-Rillera, Executive Director / Chief Operating Officer discussed how the Young Black Scholars (YBS) program has
  • 82% of YBS participants maintain a 3.0 or better GPA. 98% of participants graduate high school and enroll in a 4 year college.
  • 92% graduate college with a Bachelors Degree.
  • Over 80% go on to attend Graduate Schools.
Since 1986, YBS has assisted more than 19,000 students in "realizing" the pursuit of a college education. The 100 Black Men of Los Angeles, Inc. is a non-profit, 501 (c) 3, civic and community based organization that serves as a catalyst for the disadvantaged and underrepresented segments of the community. Its mission is to improve the quality of life for blacks and other minorities through the enhancement of educational and economic opportunities within the community.
