Roy Spence Climbs The WSJ Best Seller List By Taking A Stand

Roy Spence
Chairman and CEO of GSD&M Idea City

Upon entering the new state-of-the-art 710 ESPN studios at L.A. Live, Roy Spence takes note of one of his fondest memories... the Texas vs. USC game at the Rose Bowl. He then flashed his "Dont Mess With Texas" smile.

It’s Not What You Sell, It’s What You Stand For is an inside look at the secret ingredient of high-performing organizations: Purpose.

Listen to LaFern Cusack on the Southern California Experience this Sunday, March 15, 2009 (5am-6am PST) as Roy Spence, chairman and CEO of GSD&M Idea City, a leading national marketing communications and advertising company, shares his story of success and purpose.
"If your organization went out of business today, will it be missed?!"

Companies that have a purpose beyond making money are the companies with the best products, most loyal customers and employees and consistent success in a continually evolving marketplace. It’s Not What You Sell, It’s What You Stand For will guide leaders and marketers through their own journey of understanding how their company makes a difference and how to harness that purpose for greater success.

Through firsthand experience working with some of America’s most successful companies—Southwest Airlines, Wal-Mart, Whole Foods Market, John Deere and BMW—readers will learn how to discover their purpose and bring it to life in everything they do. With a purpose in place, employee engagement is higher, competition is less threatening, customers are more loyal and innovation flows. It’s the secret to developing a more fulfilling work life as well as a healthier bottom line.

About Roy Spence:
Roy has been named Ad Man of the Year and Idea Man of the Century and has been interviewed by The Wall Street Journal, USA Today, The New York Times, BusinessWeek, U.S. News & World Report, Esquire, Fast Company, INC. and FORTUNE for his perspectives on advertising, marketing and finding and fulfilling an organization’s purpose. A popular keynote speaker, he regularly addresses audiences from throughout the business, government and nonprofit communities.

Join Roy Spence at the thinkLA Annual Conference: IDEAS THAT CHANGE OUR WORLD... AND THE PEOPLE CREATING THEM, Thursday 30-Apr-09 5:00 PM to Sunday 3-May-09 12:00 PM PDT.
