Marco Aiello Actor, Artist and Musician. LaFern Cusack speaks with Marco Aiello about arts in education and the business of music.
Marco Aiello is the type of artist that can't be defined. Still, whether he is singing commercial jingles like the "Hello Good Buy" Beatles cover for the immensely successful Target campaign, recording, singing and touring with his own original music, portraying drug dealers or serial killers for dramatic television shows such as "Criminal Minds" or portraying hilarious characters like "Festus" for the hit comedy "Victorious" - you can't help but notice the thread that connects all his work: an authentic presence and voice. He thinks of himself as a student of the arts and strives to be a great artist - like those who came before who practiced being formless and available to be moved by the mysterious creative intelligence that exists within every human being. www.myspace.com/marcoaiello
Check out Marco this summer in the film TRANSIENTS. TRANSIENTS depicts the encounter between two artists who meet at an arts festival: Sandrine (Teal Sherer), an environmental artist whose perceptions of art and nature have been greatly affected by a recent disability, and Sal (Douglas Ridloff), a deaf musician whose personal battles frequently collide with those around him. The film explores issues of ability, communication, identity, and trust as the characters confront truths about themselves and each other.
If you would like information on restoring arts in public schools you can check out: Arts in Education Aid Council which mission is to restore a complete arts education program to the public schools of the San Fernando Valley by developing and implementing curriculum, and supporting and celebrating activities and events, in art, music, dance, and theatre for all students. Arts in Education Aid Council will always remain independent of Los Angeles Unified School District (LAUSD).

Good Luck, Mr. Gorski, Allegra Huston and Gary Houston. LaFern Cusack speaks with Allegra Huston and Gary Houston about "Good Luck, Mr. Gorski" A short film about the benefits of moon travel for those on earth. "When Neil Armstrong walked on the moon, he said, “One small step for man, one giant leap for mankind.” He also said a lot of other things. He was up there for a few hours. http://goodluckmrgorski.com/ Photo left credit: Allegra Huston on http://www.allegrahuston.com
ALLEGRA HUSTON - writer/producer. Allegra’s book Love Child: A Memoir of Family Lost and Found, published by Simon & Schuster (US) and Bloomsbury (UK) in 2009, made the bestseller lists of the San Francisco Chronicle and the Denver Post. She is co-director of Imaginative Storm writing workshops and teaches screenwriting for the Arvon Foundation in the UK and the National University of Ireland, Galway. She has written six feature scripts, sold a treatment of Kipling’s Just So Stories to Elton John’s Rocket Pictures for Disney, and was for two years Acquisition and Development Consultant at Pathé Pictures in London.
From the jacket of Love Child: When Allegra Huston was four years old, her mother was killed in a car crash. Soon afterwards, she was introduced to an intimidating man wreathed in cigar smoke—the legendary film director John Huston—with the words, “This is your father.”
Forgiveness Through Writing is an 8-week course which takes you through a process of forgiving yourself, your family, your friends, and your fate, by playing in the imagination. http://allegrahuston.com/
GARY HOUSTON was a Chicago Sun-Times features editor and writer who increasingly became lured by work on stage and screen. He worked with LaFern Cusack in the play "Ma Rainey's Black Bottom," produced by Chicago's Goodman Theater, and he was last onstage as an Alfred Hitchcock-like character in the thriller "Panic" at Peninsula Players in Door County, Wisconsin. Filmgoers may recognize him from "Fargo" as the irate car customer complaining to William H. Macy about the rust-proofing he hadn't agreed to pay for, or from "Proof" giving a eulogy for Anthony Hopkins, or from the very start of 2009's "Watchmen" as the real-life TV commentator John McLaughlin of The McLaughlin Group. He is not related to Allegra Huston though he likes to think he is. Only an O stands between them. Gary Houston Photo left credit: Gary Houston as Mr. Gorski on http://www.goodluckmrgorski.com
